I am so stoked about this web site! Of all things
my ole lady found it and said check this out. Such a
deal. I live in California and have only seen one other
Monza Spyder and it was yellow. It was out in the
deasert and I keep going by it and one day I was going to
look at it and it was gone! I placed a new 350 V8 in
my Spyder and cussed a lot because of the lack of
clearance & it was so tight that you needed a shoe horn to
put it in! NOTHING working on it was easy! It was the
damdest thing that I have ever worked on, and the
clearance under neath it is almost non existant. It took me
for ever after placing the engine in to install the
exhaust pipes. I can not believe how many times I bashed
my knuckles puting them in. I almost decided to cut
out the front wheel wells to do so. But after trial
and error got the suckers installed. I am a firm
believer that anytime you do any work on a big V8 Spyder,
be ready to accept that any other car may take 20
minutes to install something, but kick back and be
prepared to take six hours on the Chevy Monza Spyder and
have plenty of patients. But after I fired her up it
was one hell of a rush. It delivers so much torque
that the frame tweeks a bit and you have to keep
adjusting the front left fender and door. I find it easy to
believe that there are less than a thousand left
registered and on the street. The next chance I get I will
put some pictures of her on this club site. Untill
then try and keep the rubber of the tires on the
wheels. It is amazing that this car on the outside looks
so meek and mild untill you either look under the
hood or turn the engine on. Keep the faith and if
anyone has any stories about these over looked muscle
cars from hell drop me a line!

Antony,

You may want to check out the
other Yahoo clubs dedicated to H-body's (monza, vega,
starfire, sunbird, astre,
etc)

<a href=http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/gmhbody target=new>http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/gmhbody</a>

or you can search for "hbody" or "h-body" in the
club search window and that will list 90% of the
clubs. They are very active, interesting and
informative.
