i wasnt trying to be a prick, but some of these
people on ebay and trader online are on crack.
i
appraise vintage cars as a sideline,1955-80.
so i know
a little about market value.example, guy on
trader-online has a 77 vega wagon with 500 orig miles,a dealer
kept it hidden al these years.he put a 350 in it,prof
job, anyway,he wants 9900 firm for this car!!!! you gotta be
kidding me
another guy in i think calif wants 8400 for
his 75 towne coupe thats needs work, and yet another
ad in hemmings a year ago listed a 78 monza spyder
with 23 orig miles,00023,not 23k,for
$26,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i just think alot of these people take some good
drugs.being an appraiser,i can tell you there is a vast
difference between ACTUAL MARKET VALUE and the value the car
represents to YOU the owner.example:i have a '75
monza,factory 350 car,factory 4speed,factory no a/c.not only
that it is a "k" code monza,(fact 4v).to me its value
is priceless,it could never be replaced, ever.but on
the open market,it wouldnt fetch more than
$2800,tops.and its a rust free arizona car,has never seen rain
or snow or salt,so unless i found the one guy in the
world who is into monzas and has deep pockets and
really wants my car,its only going to fetch
2800,period.end of story.most people get pissed when i tell them
what there vehicles are ACTUALLY worth because there
vehicle has sentimental value and thats cool,i
understand.
my car does to but come on,9900 firm for a vega
wagon??? is this guy serious???????
just my 2 cents
