Well, new Monza to report.
1980 Monza Spyder,
white with camel interior and 43,333 original km's.
Original paint, decals, engine, everything, and it is in
mint, or near mint condition. Even the Spyder emblems
have none of the red faded from them. She is in
fantastic shape, a real keeper. A car I will keep as is, no
additions, no changes or modifications. Original Monza's
like this are too rare to mess with.
I knew
this was too good to be true though. I had it
certified (safetied) this aft and it passed with flying
colours, as expected, but as I was backing it into it's
parking spot, the power steering crapped out and I had to
manually steer the car into the spot, what a bear. It
turns out that the 2 bolts that mount the power
steering fluid reservior to the engine block were sheered
off at the heads and the entire assembly detatched
from the block, go figure. The car still runs with the
belts very loose, of course. But ... How the hell did
this happen???
