V6 SWAP???

Hi, I have a 1980 monza with a 4cyl engine, I
want to swap the engine for a buick 231 the v6 I have
it from a 1980 malibu and I have the V6 engine
mounts from a monza v6 also.
I want to know if the
oil pan is not a problem and the tranny is a th200
(original for L4)and the Y pipe from the malibu, all this
is a bolt in??.
Please let me know before I go
further.

Hi Alex, great place to stop and ask..

Im
not sure about the V6 malibu exhaust, you'll have to
test fit it and see.. I'm guessing it wont fit ,and
you'll need to buy a pipe.
As for the tranny...the
200 metric wont fit if its from the 4cyl, it has the
chevy bellhousing pattern(goes to a point at the top)
and it needs the B.O.P pattern(has a dip at the top
like the one on your V6)
a th350 would be a better
choice anyhow.
You'll need a V6 'tourqe arm' and
drive shaft,as the 4cyl monza pieces are longer.

And when you bolt the tranny crossmember back on
it'll go in the 2 rear most holes instead of the 2
front most.

hope this helps...im not sure about
the oil pan.
