Well, for the grey 1980, the future isnt looking
that bright. There are too many things wrong with the
car to justify the work of installing another tranny.
So its just sitting there on ramps and
jackstands,waiting for the inevitable.
If anyone is in need of
something from this car, now is the time to ask.
the
transmitions are already accounted for.
I could spend
600 bucks, and have this monza fit for a few more
seasons of use, being thrown out into winter as well...Or
that same 600 bucks can get me a 4x4 truck/partshauler
that is looking decent...an '84 4runner.
That
seems like the ideal move for me, although I'll miss
the feeling of pride I get in the springtime knowing
I went the whole winter in a H body without getting
stuck,or sliding out of control. (You might not know that
it gets very slushy and slippery around here for
weeks at a time). So I'll miss that. But I wont miss
the thought of wasting another H body due to road
salt inflicted rust.
So with that, Ive spent
my time with a broowed engine puller, swapping a new
motor into the '79.
As you read this, the black '79
has a .30 over 305 motor saginaw 4 spd bolted into
place.
Anyone have manual steering for a monza with
tilt wheel? would you like to trade it for a power
steering set up from a V6 spyder? now with a V8 pump on
it?
If so let me know.
