Dropping the tank is not hard at all, the straps
attach to 4 studs on the bottom of the floor pan. I ran
a similar set-up in my '79 monza before I switched
to an electric fuel pump, except I ran a high flow
Holley mechanical fuel pump which works great for the
horse power application, the only problem is in some
cases you have to notch the passenger side front frame
rail for the fuel pump to clear. Good luck with the
Monza!!!

A good person to ask would be my friend Robert,
at Ida91@aol.com He has a 302 Vega, and has lots of
detailed info on how he set it up.
I sure you can find
an in-tank pump with the pressure you need that will
adapt to the monza pickup. He may have some exact part
numbers.

You have on of the 2,339 spyders made for
'76. Cool!!
What color is/was yours, and did it
have the side emblems on it?
Have any pictures?

With that much horsepower, the factory in tank
pump will be too weak, the last pressure check I did
on mine came in at just under 5psi on a new pump,
I've run out of fuel even with my L69 305.
My next
mod to the fuel system will be to use a TBI pump
which will produce anywhere between 10-15 psi and
regulate the pressure down to 6-7 psi and run a 3/8" fuel
line in place of the factory 5/16" just an idea I've
been tossing around for a while. Ian
