well, i'm thinking it over! i have a v8 donor
monza that i picked up for 350 bucks, runs and drives.
i might do that or if i can find the right 4
cylinder i might go that way. i talked to a gm muscle car
guy and he was saying that there were only 3 77
mirages made with the four banger and that it could be
worth alot of dough if it was restored back to
original. i might sell it if the price is right. if i
restore it i will sell or part out the donor car. hell, i
don't know! what do you guys think i should do? Bruce

Bruce, I'd like to know who your GM Musclecar
friend is and how he verified that there were only 3
4-bangers produced. Can you provide any info on
him?

As for restoring your car or dropping a V8 in... if
your car IS one of only 3, then if you've got the time
and money to do the restoration right, then it might
be worth your while to throw the 4 banger back
in.... as much as I love V8's, rare cars are just as
much of a novelty in my book. I enjoy "them" just as
much... V8 or not!

sure Ken, no problem. his name is Dan from G.M.
muscle car in Palos Hills. his number is 708-599-2277.
he claims that he had alot to do with all the muscle
car upgrades when he worked for G.M. he was able to
rattle things off the top of his head about all kinds of
cars, including monza mirages. he gave me a list of all
the factory part numbers for the mirage upgrades. be
for warned, the guy can talk! you'll be on the phone
for an hour! if you could, call him and see what you
think and then talk to me about it. he seemed very
knowledgable. if he's right, anybody got a 1977 four banger for
my mirage????
