been busy here..with work glad to have seen a few
posts ..i looked at ron groans car and i am determined
to say his air dam is a aftermarket one and the
stripes are a after thought by someone else since they
arent even faded the same as the decal side stripes and
are a different shade...being a body guy i know even
a dealer wouldnt paint a stripe that far off from
the usuall concept at the time of production unless
it was desired by the customer..his car is really
nice dont get me wrong i wish mine was done as far as
his :>) my thinking is that somne of the cars came
with a upper stripe deleted either to later sell these
models or at the customers request..i have seen oh say
20 percent of the mirages with no upper stripes and
have yet to determine the exact reason as my car is
one of them and i could find no evidence of say the
roof ever being painted but found blue overspray in
the cowl area..any other thoughts??

Hi vern =) , yea, rons stripes are different,i
have no idea why they didnt paint them a bit fatter,
hmmmmm, but yes, the car is very clean all around.We are
going to transplant his 305 with a very built 350 this
saturday.He is tired of that 305 powerplant.Yea, that is
interesting, 20 percent of the mirage cars didnt have upper
stripes....hmmmmmm,....well, maybe they are even the rarest?...and as far as
the overspray in the cowling area, mine has that too,
you'd think they would of done a cleaner job at the
factory...anyways, these monza mirage vehicles are getting very
,very hard to find.,its a fact....i wonder how many are
actually left....any figures???...Well Vern have a great

hey vern. i got the same blue on my cowl, if you
look at my pics at the underhood one you can see it
very well. i have not determaned why its there, the
car like yours has no evidence of body work and or
painting, yet they are there, and thats the only hint of
any stripes on mine. i would love to know why they
are there. anybody got a clue?
