swap back to V6!

It may seem odd to many, but I am thinking of
putting a V6 into my V8 Monza. Why? Becuase the V6
handles better, and is easier to work on too. I have had
V6 Monzas in the past, and they can be made to be
quite quick. I have a 350/auto today, and would like to
go to a 3.8, or 4.3 V6 5speed manual. Anybody go any
ideas or word of wisdom?

Well, if your going to be transferring a v6 back
into your monza, I would certainly suggest using the
4.3 liter v6.They are very torquey engines :) the 3.8
is also a very good engine, but make sure you get
the even fire type.And a word to the wise...dont ever
mess with a 2.8 liter v6...oh man! JUNK! My input,

Karl, Thanks for your input. The 4.3 does have a
lot potential, my concern is what engine mounts to
use. It would seem that the 4.3 would need the same
type as a bowtie v8, but wouldn't they need to
relocated? If so, has anyone done this before? Your are
right about the 2.8, it is total junk! I have had a lot
fun build the even fire Buick v6 motors. They can
really be built up quite a bit. I had a Monza Sypder
with a 3.8, Holly 4bbl, buick stage 2 heads, and a
Crane cam(I forget the numbers), but it ran low
forteens, and when I let an experienced driver run, we saw
high 13s. I broke rear ends a lot though. Anyway thank
again!

Lets see here...well a 4.3 liter v6 is basically
a 350 minus 2 cylinders, but, iam really not sure
if v8 monza mounts will work...honestly iam not sure
of this subject.But, I do know they make kits just
for this engine swap..check out summit racing
equipment maybe?..1-800-230-3030,they may be able to help
