Vega question??????

I saw you said you have a Vega GT. I just bought
a Vega today and don't know much about them, and
could use some help. I got it to toy with while I
restore my Nova, once that is done I'll redo the Vega.
It's a '73 GT, on the door handle it says millionth
vega. The lady I got it from owned it since '75 and
didn't really know much about it. What does the GT mean,
all I know is it has a different dash, and what
exactly is the millionth vega marking? It's been
repainted (as original) orange with one "rally" stripe up
the hood and down the hatch, not the roof. Any info
you or anyone else could give me would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks...Dave

Dave,

There's nothing really special about
the "Millionth Vega." Basically, it was just that
orange paint and the tag on the door handles. The GT
package included the full gague cluster, 2bbl carb, sway
bars front (13/16") and rear (3/4"), 14" GT steering
wheel (same as the Camaro) instead of the 15" 2300
wheel, bucket seats and a very weak "oh crap" handle.

No Vega ever had the stripe on the roof, always on
the hood and hatch, if it had one at all.

I'm
sure you'll run into more problems with it and have
more questions later!
