I just purchased a '79 Monza this weekend. My
friend just built the motor 250 miles ago, its a little
Buick V-6, but set up sweet. The carbs fuel return line
was not hooked, so top of engine compartment burnt
down. It fried the carb, ignition wires, distributor,
wiring harness, but the engine is still good. Luckily I
found a distributor, cap, coil and wires for $10. And
have a holley from my race car until race season
starts back up. Got the car for $100, so I'm pretty
stoked! Eventually I'm thinking of putting my 350 out of
my Nova in, and somehow modifying this Buick 231
into my Fiat (I know stupid, but hey., one of a kind.)
With all that just wanted to say hello;)

DBLD,
Sounds like a good deal, and the engine
transplants are definately worth considering. Where in COLO
are you?? I am in Highlands Ranch on the south edge
of Denver. That makes 4 of us H-body nuts here. I
have a 75 Monza with the V-6 in it. It is slightly
warmed over, but needs a 4-bl carb, I hope to get a 390
cfm & manifold for it.

I live over in Nucla. Middle of nowhere. I'm hoping to have the Monza running this weekend.

Troy,
Gee, you are just a bit off the beaten
path. Do you get over to the Denver area while driving
the truck???Are there any good salvage yards with
Monza's in them over in that area??? Be sure and chack
out the other GM Hbody clubs. There are several, and
one with over 750 members, trying to go official club
with it. Are you an over-the-road driver or
local???

I used to do a line haul into Denver four days a
week, and used to haul fuel out of the refineries(sp?)
but now I run a 7 mile round trip that takes about a
half hour, after 9 hours each day of that, I have not
found anything anywhere as boring. But home every night
and weekends. I'm hauling out of the power plant to a
pit where we bury the byproduct. I see quite a few
Vegas here and there, but the Monzas are scarce.

There used to be a place east of the Springs that
quit a few of both. will have to stop there again
sometime. Being home every night is definately a benefit,
and probably outweighs the boring 9 hrs. Also with
weekends off, that is definately a good deal. Check out gm
hbody they have 750+ members and normally have a pretty
good chat going, lots of information being passed back
and forth.
