Transmission hump modification? #2

I meant to say, I didn't modify it too much. I am
thinking about actually cutting the drivers side of the
tunnel out in the front to get the tranny up where it
should be. Then building a custom cover to go over it.
Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks
again,
Wade

Mods in the tunnel area
depends on wich year
of vega you
got...

One member in the
h-body club have
a 1971 vega and he used Hardy
mounts,
he had to cut a lot in the trans tunnel
area
to get the drivetrain at the right

angle...

Is screen name is twelve second vega

I have 73 Wagon. I know alot of people beat the
crap out of the trans tunnel, but I didn't want to do
that. So I tried to get away with as little
modification as possible. But I think I will have to go
farther which will mean cutting the tunnel, at least on
the drivers side out and building a custom
(higher)tunnel on that side.

I never had to beat the crap out of my tunnels in
various v8 vega projects, if your using stock v8 monza
motor mount plates, you wont need to do any bashing. And
as far as the trans crossmember is concerned, you
can use the stock monza type, and everything will be
fine, or you can make your own trans mount out of some
durable piece of metal.I hate to see the project v8 vegas
that had to do serious modifications as you
describle....take your time, do it right....no hammering, ouch!
Karl :)
