Do any of you guys have an idea how fast a Vega would be with a 283 backed by a Poweglide with Tri-Power? The rest of the car will be stock. Any guesses you guys could give would be cool.

Not necessarily true...I have a dual quad tunnel
rammed 350 chevy engine in a 1977 monza mirage, and it
dont spit or sputter or bog at all...it is dialed in
correctly..with the right jets, and a little patience..you can
get 3 2 barrels to cooperate very nicely...It also
helps if you have the right camshaft, stall converter,
and gears..etc.. Karl :)

Karl;

I beg to differ with you about two fours on a factory type intake, They SUCK! Everyone knows that real men with 2-4's run TUNNEL RAMS.

well,
two holley on a cross ram or on a low
rise manifold does look cool
it all depends on the rest of the car

So, like I said first off, about a 14.20. So I
exaggerated a little. More like a 15.60@80mph. I was trying
to be nice. But you're right honesty.
Like I
said there is nothing like a Holley double
pumper...period.

I would guess somewhere in the mid 15's at about
85mph. I ran my 77 350 GT Hatchback at Rocky Mountain
Raceway in Salt Lake last May. RMR is at 4500 ft. I have
350 with 1.94 heads, 650 Holley Double Pumper,
camshaft with 246 duration @.050, .509 lift, 10 to 1
compression, Victor Jr. intake, 3000 stall converter, and 3.36
rear gears with the stock rear end and the stock
tires. I could only get 14.82 @95 mph. The car would fry
the tire the entire 1/4 mile because I had no posi.
If you can get the power to the pavement and get the
mph up close to 100 mph you may see 13's depending on
your 60ft time. My 60ft time was only 2.5

Just
my experience.

Scott
