Damn thats great! 11 is a fast number to
run..Congratulations. Hey just curious what you have done to the car.
What is done to the motor, compression, what type of
intake, carb, cam combo are you running? And what kind of
rear-end and gears are in the vega? I am close to
finishing my 76 GT Vega and have a 175 horse nitrous kit
that is going on it very soon. The motor is a 355 with
a pretty stock bottom end and 10:1's. Its got a set
of ported and polished stock 1.94/1.60 heads, a
Victor Jr. intake, a Comp 280 cam, and a Holley 780
carb. I plan on putting a 9inch in it soon with 4.56's.
But it has the stock GT 3.73 posi rear in it right
now. I am just curious what it will run. thanks for
the info. Jordan Yuma,AZ

Wow, great! Thats not too much different than
what I will be running motorwise. Thats cool about you
picking up half a second changing to a taller gear, I
will have to see how mine does. It should be done
within the next month hopefully. I just painted it and
the convertor should come in anyday now. Then I can
stab the motor and tranny and have some fun. Hell
yeah!. I'll post some pics soon. What does your car run
without the nitrous? How big of a slick do you run? I
have a set of 12' cheater slicks that barely fit my
car, ..but they fit so I'm gonna use 'em. Does your
car spin the tire bad or does it hookup real good? My
brother used to have a 71 Vega with the same motor and it
would burn the tires and be all over the road and never
hook up. I am planning on making a set of subframe
connectors and ladder bars sometime next week maybe. thanks
for all the help Jordan.

hey jordan, with out the n.o.s. it ran a best of
11.79 at 115 mph. the tire is a 275 50 15 bfg drag
radial on a 12 inch rim. its real touchy on the launch.
it seems to hook best with a good long burn out. if
it doesnt hook it runs 11.40 but the mph stays
120!if you run slicks you should do sub frame
connectors,i dont think the sub frame has stress while
spinning the tires but hook it up and you might twist it
!good luck and have fun!

Thanks Jimmy, I'll have to do some work to the subframe then before I attempt anything. Your car sounds like it runs great without the nitrous. Its definately a nice car. thanks Jordan

Hey Jimmy, I know that I have asked you a bunch
of questions already but I have a couple more if
thats cool. haha. How wide is the shortened 9" under
your car, what does it measure from drum to drum or
disk to disk. haha. I know someone who has a shortened
9' that I could possibly buy. And what is the offset
on your wheels? thanks Jordan

Hey Jimmy do you think that you could post some
pics from underneath the back of the car? They would
really be helpful, and by the way what was the altitude
that you made those 11 second runs at?(just curious)
Thanks Richard
