HELP
i have a 700r4 behind a 350 and have a
problem with the shift points and the soft shift. i know
there are shift kits to fix this but here is what i was
wanting to have
1 auto in drive with full throttle
shift at a round 5800
2 hold in a gear
3 firm
shift
4 full throttle overdrive
is this number 4 a
pipedream? i have seen kits and some say no full comp mode
for the 700r4 and the b&m value for 3/4 throttle and
i have ordered the gov recab kit
i would like to
use all 4 gears as my uncle has stuck 4.10 s10 gears
with 23inches rudder under it and i have got to get a
shift lite to keep this puppy out of the red zone if i
have to keep shifting myself, this has made my really
want it to work right in OD

Summit sells a valve to delay overdrive. You cant
shift into overdrive under full throttle because it
won't grab. I ran a 550 hp rat with a 700 and I used
the manual select most of the time. If The pressure
cable is very touchy and needs to be adjusted properly
for shift points.

TH-700
have a lot of stuff to be done on them
to make
them resist high HP engine...
bigger 2
4 servo..
more line pressure...
more
clutchs...
bigger sprag ( some years)
better pump (some
years)
well you see what i mean...
if you want a trans
that will hold in 4th gear...
get one from a vette
or a trans am that came from GM whit Z rated
tires...

or
buy a unit from
TCI,Art Carr,
JET...
shift point are very hard to pre adjust on the
700
you have to dial them in the car....
this is due
to a couples of factors..
first the th-700 have
very long oil circuits in the body valve
the rear
end ratio
the weight of the car
size of the
rear tires
power of the engine
rate at witch the
engine accelerates

you can
`t put all this
data in a trans dyno and have prebuilt trans thta will
at the good rpm`s the first time

Denis
i also have a th-700 in my Spyder
