Wiring HELP!

I finally got my v-8 vega going....all was well
for a few days....now I need help! I put a new
alternator on it (simple 3 wire hookup). The battery was
being charged for a while...now it is not! What in the
vega charging system would cause a working alternator
(i had it tested!) to not supply power to the car
and/or charge the battery. It seems simple, but it sure
isn't powering the car (the car dies when i take the +
cable off the battery!) HEELLPPPPP
PLEASE
Vegacharger..

Wiring HELP!

Don't take the battery cable off of a car when it
is running. You could damage your alternator. Check
it with a voltmeter. Wire #1 is ignition,
#2
loops back to the bat term, and the bat goes to
the
bat obviously. If it still doesnt charge then
the
alt is bad. If you have #1 connected to the bat term
it will drain the battery.

thanks blurat! So the small brown wire on #1
should have 12ish volts when the car is on? I have the
other two terminals (bigger red ones) connected
together and they end up at the battery. I just don't see
any power besides the battery voltage anywhere in
line....but when the alt was tested, it cranked out 14
volts...just ain't seening that on the car!
Thanks
man....ill run some tests and let you know!
