Zlilo, you might want to contact Craig
(craigshawk@yahoo.com). He has a Silver 79 Skyhawk for sale, but has also
owned a couple Roadhawks that he still has the body
panels to. Also, it's a long distance, but I've located
another Roadhawk in a salvage yard in BC Canada for sale.
If you want only the Roadhawk-specific parts from
it, he's asking $150. I'm not sure what he's asking
for the entire car.

So, tell us... how much
do you know about these rare 'hawks? What do you
own? Am interested in talking with you.... (don't
forget the rare Silver/Red/Black Free-Spirit Edition
Skyhawk, and the Red/Black or Yellow/Black Designer's
Editions too)

And what do you know of a turbo 'hawk
being factory produced? (I'm assuming that's what you
meant) The only Turbo Hawk I'm aware of is the one John
Thawley built - I'd "LOVE" to see/own that car!

As
for finding a Nighthawk, I've only talked to one
person who's ever even "seen" one, but I do know of
someone who owns an NOS set of Nighthawk decals.

Good luck in your search.

Ken

Has anyone ever located a source that has the roadhawk upholstery? I would like to have my skyhawk done with the eagle pattern on white vinyl or the spirit of america pattern.

Bob, if it helps, here is one pic of a (dirty)
Roadhawk seat for you to reference. Also, the place in
Canada that was parting out the Roadhawk said the seats
were still pretty good. Maybe you could take the seat
covers?..... I can look up their info if you'd like. Let me
know....

Love to know what he's asking for the complete
rolling chassis. :)

As to how much I know about
them - a pretty good amount. I've had a heavy lean
towards the '80's J-bodied SkyHawks for quite a while (my
first car was an '87 T-Type) but I also have two '77
Monzas, and a friend just located what may be a DeKon.
(Yes, one of the '76 DeKon's.) I've seen maybe three
FSE's and two confirmed R/B DE's.

There was a
Turbo 'hawk in '79 for sure - production was
*EXTREMELY* limited supposedly. They supposedly all have the
RoadHawk package without the seats, and hawk silhouettes a
la Century Turbo Coupe on the fenders. (If you've
got SkyHawk badging, you can also convert a Century
T/C to a SkyHawk. ;) Supposedly it was also an option
in '78, but I've yet to see anything to
prove/disprove it.

As for the NightHawks, I have seen
*two* original NightHawks and one 'converted'
NightHawk. The problem with IDing the NightHawks is the fact
that the decals last *maybe* 10 years, 15 TOPS. A true
NightHawk in a boneyard that's been picked over is gonna
look more like a RoadHawk or black SkyHawk. And I
don't know the NightHawk option code, the only real
thing you can confirm with in those cases.
:(

Take a look at a '79 Century T/C
sometime.

Basically, it's a SkyHawk with Century badging. And
actually, no, the Century was not. That would be, IIRC, the
Riviera or Regal - G platform. AFAIK, the Century in '79
was an H body, but I'm not sure, so I'm hesitant to
pass it off as one. Bottom line, though, is that they
basically look like they took a SkyHawk fascia, slapped it
on a SkyHawk, put the NightHawk-style hawk
silhouettes on the fenders (same place as NightHawk, but not
decal) in black on white, black whaletail spoiler
(stolen from Monza ;), threw a 3.8L Turbo under the hood,
and called it the Century T/C. :)
