I have a 1985 S-10 rearend it seems to be 1 and
1/4 inch shorter than my stock vega rearend. I know
that all my mounts must be aligned the same as they
where, From the centerline out. But will I have to space
my wheels out?

If it is 1 1/4" shorter overall this means that
you are going to lose 5/8th" on each side. So it
depends on how much clearance you presently have between
the inside of the tire and the body. You could make
up for it with different offset wheels or a spacer.
You can get custom billet wheel adapters from
motorsport technology, 909-514-0091 or

Thanks CJBIAGI, I also found that my axles are longer and drums are 1 inch wider than stock so it shouldn't be to much trouble to get it all to work.

Yeah, I guess the critical measurement is from
axle flange to axle flange. This gives you the true
length of the rear end so you know where your wheels
will end up in relation to your stock rear. Hope it
all works out. Clyde
