S-10 Spindles and Rear end

I'm just starting on a Monza and I have seen
conversions to S-10 Spindles and rear ends. I have a new set
of dropped spindles and a rear end in my shop that I
would like to use in my Monza. Can somebody tell me
what is involved to make this
conversion?

Thanks
Dick J

Ok I can tell you how I put my rear end in.
I
cut the S-10 leafs down and made trailing arms out of
them.I even used the old centering bolts over then I
welded a plate on the back of S-10 spring plate and used
a piece or square tubing with one side cut out and
hole drilled for the shocks( I have a so so picture I
will scan in and post in pictures).
Oh and I took
my mig welder and welded the outboard mount to the
wheel well. I'll post that too.
For rear shocks I
have used Monroe Sensa-Trac #5202(stock for my 71
Monte Carlo)and I have got a set of Monroe Reflex for a
1994 and up S-10 2WD #911129 and will let you know
what it drives like cause I am going on a trip sept 21
22 23 to Fort Wayne, I hope the work well cause the
rears are so good now.
Well any more questions let
me know.
Lee

Dick, this is a easy swap to do. for the front
buy the ball joint adapter kit from Bob Gumm
(webmaster of this site). As for the rear I swaped S-10 axles
from a S-10 rearend.Make sure you get the right spline
count as S-10s have 26 and 28.You can use S-10 gear's
in your H body by getting Timkin BEARING # 16143 and
RACE # 16283.You can get them from Reider Racing (313)
946-1330. You must also use a S-10 yoke. Try a Dana U-Joint
PN#5-3022 this should mate your H body drive shaft to the
S-10 yoke.
Need more info contact me at

You would'nt be the same Dick J. that races at Maxton
and is into old Hemis?
