Conversion to to other shocks

I have an 80 Monza Spyder with a complete S-10
conversion including a drum to drum S-10 rearend. I have new
'le' shocks on the car now, but i do not like their
ride or dampening. I have always liked stiff shocks
for their handling benefits. So I am asking not for
an opinion on this, but what options others in the
Hbody club have taken to convert to a shock size that
is readily available. I have seen saveral posts on
this, but would like to get as much info on this before
I proceed any further.

Thanks!!!!!!

Jeff in Dallas

HEY JEFF,
I put a set of Monroe Reflex #911129
shocks on the front of my 77 monza and a set of Monroe
Sensatrac's # I dont remember but they are stock for a 70
monte carlo and all you have to do is make a sleeve for
the lower mount(as the stock bolts are very small)and
they worked GREAT!!!!!
WOOHOO I loved it but right
after I got the front ones onI wrecked it($@#%^^*) you
will have to make the hole a little bigger ,just grind
towards center of car,and I was going to make a plate to
afix to bottom of spring pocket to help it with
strength if needed but theses shocks are same bottom mount
and length for front and same upper mount for rear
and all you need is some small pieces of pipe that
shock bolts will go throughand get them turned down so
the slip in snugly into bottom shock bushing.
Good
luck and as soon as I find my dang monroe book I'll
post the number for the rears .
Lee
