I don't have the answers to the best way...But I
are you planning on driving it on the street or is
this for racing?, because aluminum would probably make
it hot in the inside of the car. Or are you just
looking for some more clearance for the tranny, and
distributor? Because keep in mind that you will need to
remount the windshield wiper motor, brake pedals, gas
pedal, extend wires, maybe move back the front seats for
leg clearance, etc. Personally, I want to get
clearance for my H.E.I. so I am planning on just welding in
a piece of concave shape sheet metal, but I would
like to eventually get some engine-setback Richard

Yeah, I was at first going to just try to do some
'convincing' with a hammer(I've done it on my Nova, but then
you have to try and make it look pretty) But Since I
am going to be welding up my heater(no use for those
in South Florida), I will try to find some metal
tubing(has to be a big diameter though)and cut it in half,
and then try and see if I can just weld it behind
there. It should work good. It won't be for a while
though, since I am still working on the rear of my car,
trying to get most of my interior and rear suspension,
and rearend done right at the moment. See ya Richard
