Thanks for posting all this great info. One
question: you've relocated the motor up and it looks like
you've got a 3" tall air cleaner sitting on a Q-Jet. How
will you get the stock hood to close
correctly?

I can barely squeeze a 1" air cleaner on a Holley
(that's shorter than a Q-Jet) and that's with 1/8"
clearance under the pan and removing some material from the
hood bracing!

The finished project will require a fibeglass
Z-28 or L-88 hood for everything to fit properly. This
inconvenience will be offset by the greater clearances gained
in critical areas like around the center-link and
steering shaft.

Actually, I have test fit the hood
and it would fit with some trimming, but the original
look I had perceived for this car was with a 'big'
hood.

I hope these photos will help others with their
own project Vega...Robert
