T-50 question?

Over the past few days, I scanned the yahoo.hbody
club postings getting ideas for my v8 Vega. I have
pondered the engine/trans combo for my car for some time,
and I'm heavily leaning towards the T-50. My question
is, are there more than one version? or did the all
hbodys get the same one? There seems to be very little
info except here regarding this trans. I had one in my
77 GT wagon and loved it.....Barry

There are actually (3) versions of the T-50 and
the difference is basically the gear ratios. There is
a 4 Cylinder, V6 and V8 version. I can't seem to
find my notes right now, but the list of ratios is on
the HBody.org FAQ website.

T-50's came with
ATF as the lubricant and this has been said to cause
lots of failures. I have personally seen a T-50 behind
a supercharged Packard Straight 8 that runs over
170 mph at Bonneville.

It has been said that
Mobil 1 Synthetic 75/90 lubricant is the secret and
that is the lubricant I use exclusively in the
T-50's.

I'm using one behind my 302 and I have no
concerns...Robert

Thanks for the info Robert, I'll keep looking for
a T-50 in Pick-a-Part. There seems to be a few T-5
in the bone yards that I might consider installing
if I don't find one. I plan on using it behind a
327, not built too wild.....Barry

The T-5 is another good choice, but it takes a
few modifications to make it work. One is installing
the S-10 T-5 Tailshaft Housing.

I saw a previous
post that you might not be able to make it to the
SoCal CVOA get together. I will be taking lots of
pictures. If you can't make it, at least you will be able
