Subtle changes to the board to facilitate search engines

Postby monzamess » Tue Dec 26, 2006 11:48 pm

Hi all, I just made some changes to the board to make it easier for Google and other search engines to index it. That way when someone searches for h-body realted info there is a great chance they'll find this site first.

The changes are in the "Able2Know" search engine optimization mod.

Basically, when you are logged in, the only real change you'll see is that the "latest post" entries on the forum index are linked by the date instead of the username. Also, page titles are simpler. Also, moderators are not listed on the forum index, but they are listed on the forum pages (yes Marco you're still the mod).

When you are not logged in (like a search engine will not be logged in), there are some more changes, like not seeing avatars, and having static-appearing URLs to each page. Again this is to get the page indexed in the search engine and ranked properly.

IF YOU NOTICE ANYTHING BROKEN PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

Thanks everyone.
