How to post for the reputation function?

Postby spyderman1977 » Sat Jan 13, 2007 4:55 am

I know that the reputation part of the board is working but how or what do you have to do to add to someone's reputation through the board?

I just bought quite a bit of v6 goodies and wanted to go ahead and put my 2 cents in as far as the rep. thing goes.

Thanks,
Paul

Reputation is feedback to a person for a particular post. On that post, under their name, is "Reputation" followed by a thumbs-up icon and a thumbs-down icon. Click one of those icons for good or bad feedback and then you go to a form where you can type in a message.

Hey Paul,

Glad to see you made it home alright and didn't slide off in a ditch between here and there. I was going to call last night but lost track of time and by the time I remembered (oldtimers) it was too late.
I'll pull the engine plates out of the car as soon as the ice melts off of it (it's in the back yard until I get the garage cleaned out). Hopefully in the next few days although it looks like we have more in the forcast for next week.

Thanks again,
Jon

I see where it says reputation but no thumbs up or down to click on??? Do you have to be in the classified section in order for that to come up?

Jon the ride home was slow going till we hit the River. Guess you guys up north got the worse of the weather although later on the roads were getting bad here in Wichita. Just let me know when you get to those plates.

Thanks again Jon.

No, you don't have to be in any special forum. Under your name I see:

It was enabled for admins only to use but I think we all assumed it was enabled for all registered users, so I set it that way. Colin and I didn't notice the problem since we're admins.

Seeing the thumbs

Postby spyderman1977 » Thu Jan 18, 2007 3:01 am

Dave if you are logged in you will only see the rep. number besides your name. You will not have any thumbs. I can see everyone elses thumbs but not my own. Atleast that is how it appears to me. I bet that is so that you can't butter up your own reputation.

So what is the scale?? I notice Colin is a +4 and few others are +1...so the majority are 0.....how does one get from being a 0 or "nothing? :

HEY...WHY DON"T I HAVE THE LITTLE THUMBS?? :?: :?:

Adding to the reputation

Postby spyderman1977 » Fri Jan 19, 2007 2:29 pm

The reputation function is similar to Ebay's feedback system. Each time you buy/sell something to a board member if you want to you can click on the thumbs up if everything went well or if the deal went bad give them a thumbs down. While logged in you won't see thumbs by your name. I am guessing that is so you can't up your own reputation. Apparently Colin has been a little more active in selling or buying parts plus some of those on his scale might be from testing to make sure it is working right. I know at first it wasnt working but now Dennis and Colin got it back up and running again.

Also for what it is worth when do click on the thumbs up or down you can leave a message just like Ebay.
