Edit Posts?

Postby res0o7eb » Sat Jun 23, 2007 12:37 pm

I can't seem to edit my own posts. I used to make minor changes right after I submitted a post or do multiple quotes in a single post. Yes, there is a preview pane, but sometimes I miss a few things.
Am I missing something? I can't seem to do that anymore.

Sorry, I meant to post about it but got caught up in real work.

For now, I've turned off edit and delete posts.

We had a problem with someone hacking into someone else's account and messing up their posts. Since I don't have days to go through the logs and try and figure it out, I've just turned off edit and delete for now.

I'll probably turn it back on soon. Until then, proofread carefully...

Hey Dennis
Ahh, that makes total sence why you turned it off. Any chance you can alter the function to prevent editing, say, and hour after the post has been originally made or less? That would prevent the problem you faced.

Is it likely that a person hacked in to change one other person's post? Or is it more likely that a server fart or software glitch caused the posts to become mixed up?

I prefer being able to edit my posts at any time. :)

No, you should still be able to edit and delete your own posts when you're logged in.

We could probably institute something like that but the more SQL queries we execute the greater the problems will be in regards to CPU usage.
