not seeing pic's

Am I the only not seeing pic's . Sometimes when I go to posts with pic's that I know have pic's, I cannot view them sometimes and other times I can. It dosnot matter if I'm using Safari or Firefox.

Cant find the edit feature here but just wanted to add that this has been going for a couple of weeks and I had it had this just happen in the progects forum could not see Steves pics now but saw them maybe an hour before.

Cache problem is my guess. Never once had a problem here. You aren't running WindowsME, are you?

If someone uploaded pics to this site you should always see them. Those pics will have boxes around them with the file name, title, etc.

If someone posted the pics somewhere else and just linked them here, it totally depends on where they uploaded them. If the pic doesn't show up, some places (like photobucket) will put in a substitute that says "bandwidth exceeded" or whatever. Other hosts will just give you nothing.

Are the missing pics on this site or somewhere else?

It seem that the pic's that I know are on this site are directly uploaded here that I see intermitantly. My wife uses this computor daily for some of here work witch deals with a lot of pic's and I have heard no complaints from her !!!!
I am running Tiger 10.4 program on a iMac.
Just this morning I couldnot view Steves and my own pic's in the progects forum and in the wiring forum (tach thread) I could only see the pic of the tach and not any of the wiring or the pic. of the filter that I uploaded to this site. But in the general forum could see all pic's in the monza 2+2 thread.
Then a few minutes later today they all seem to be there, this doesnt happen all the time, as some times I can be on site for an hour or so and still not see the pic's. As I've said the is no real constancy to this, but is dam annoying.

I've noticed that I have to be logged in on some forums here to see the pics.

Mr Moderator is this a glitch in the system or in me lol . Apperantly some of us have to be logged on to see pic's in some of the forums.

I don't think it's you Len. I don't think anyone can see some pics if they aren't logged in. Kind of a way to make people join instead of lerking. I couldn't see the want ads earlier then noticed I wasn't logged in.

We should let people know that they will see pictures if they join, some how.

There are several features you need to be logged in to see. The main reason is that the "not logged in" version of the board is friendly to search engines, so that our site will be indexed properly and score high on the searches. When you log in, you see the "human friendly" version of the site.

I'll see what I can do to let users know they should register/log in to see more content...
