Problem getting to H-body Forum

Postby hammerdown7 » Sun Mar 16, 2008 10:36 am

Is there anyone else that has daily problems of not being able to get to this site with responses like, Site Not Found, Cannot Find Server etc? Seems to be happening more frequently to me. Any one have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Dick

Same thing happens to me, I just wait a bit and I can get on.

Yeah, I've seen it more than usual in the last few weeks.
No problem today.
I also have seen that overall performance on my computer is better overall after I rebooted MY computer.

I noticed it is getting worse. It's frustrating at times like when I have a little time to get on and can't. It's not so bad when I have more time and can surf and come back and try again. But still, without this site I wouldn't be where I am with my H-obby. (ok, obbsession) If it's boyond the control of the mods I'll deal with it.

It seems to go in streaks where it gets hard to get on. Since we are on a shared server I would guess that whenever one of the other users is making or testing updates to whatever they run, we see more frequent downtime. Fortunately it doesn't usually last long.

Frustrating I know, but be patient and it will smooth out again. It usually does.

Yeah, it does seem to be more frequent. This morning in the middle of reading the "new posts since last visit", I typed a response and couldn't send it. The bad thing is now I lose all of the rest of the new posts since I have already logged in. Once it comes back up there may be "no new posts since last visit". It's not like a crisis or anything but it is frustrating at times since it does seem to be more of a common occurence.

It's out of our control, that is unless someone wants to pay for a $200/month colocated box.

Well I guess beggars can't be choosey. Today has been pretty bad though. 3 separate times it was unavailable, morning, afternoon & evening.

Trick I have found is if you keep an email you have received from here about a topic you posted in. That link will sometimes get you here if you cannot get in the regular way.

More than likely that's your browser's cache at work.
