Track Car/Autocross forum?

Postby tinsfci » Tue Jul 15, 2008 1:37 pm

Hi,

wouldn´t it be cool to have something like a "Track car tech" or "Autocross tech" Forum under "General and technical discussions"?

I don´t know how many of you guys (or ladies) here are into Autocross or Roadracing, but surely there must be some?

I was thinking that the "Racing chassis" forum could be split/renamed to "Drag racing chassis", since as we all know, there is quite a big difference between a drag racing chassi and a chassi made for performing well in corners :)

I myself started racing my Monza in Bracket racing (and still do sometimes), but recently I took it to a "A day at the roadrace track",
and it was... GREAT!! :D

I hope to get some comments on this

Yeah, it's here: Road Racing and AutoX

I really like autox but have not had time for it in a long time. Judging by the state of my car, it will be another long time before I do it again.

OK Per (is that your name?)
Cough it up, what have you done to your Monza. It looks like it is handling those cones with relative ease.
I would like to take my Vega in a Pro-Touring direction and keep an eye open for appropriate modifications. Right now if I push it, it goes into a four wheel slide. I think the garbage tires have something to do with that though.

I recently took my stock '73 Vega GT to my first Autocross "School". I got many runs under the direction of 2 different instructors and had a BLAST!

Out of 20 entrants, I had the 17th slowest time..... :( but I had a BLAST!

Now that I've got the car back under it's own power, I will continue to run it on the days that I can schedule it.
My car is practically stock....... no suspension mods..... but I had a BLAST!

Oooopps... I totally missed that! I guess I was looking more in the technical section.

I still think the "Racing chassis" forum could be splitted at least into two forums: "Drag Racing Chassis" and "Performance/handling chassis", how about that?
