I am looking for suggestions on how to manage user contributions to the site.
This very forum is a good place to keep some, maybe all, things.
However, for some information, like I have in the h-body.org library, it might be better to keep it in a more traditional webpage format.
In no way do I want to detract from this board. I am talking about brochure scans, manual pages, HOW TOs, etc--stuff that tends to get lost in the daily chatter on a forum.
So, I'm looking for your suggestions.
Here are my further thoughts on the various options:
1) Just keep it here on the forum -- self-explanatory
2) Use phpBB wiki -- I don't know much about it, but it comes with phpBB we're using now
3) Use mediawiki -- used by http://wikipedia.org , I use it at work, I know how to set it up
4) Use some other wiki like TWiki or Geeklog -- don't know much about them but not ruling out the unknown
5) Send stuff to Dennis (me) so he can update it by hand on h-body.org -- this option is subject to delay but it offers better quality control -- not my favorite option
6) Other, please reply and describe
Since things aren't going to "scroll off" here like certain other boards, this isn't urgent--think about what will be the easiest to maintain and use in the long term.
