Will other 'board look' preferences return?

Postby marco_1978_spyder » Wed Nov 30, 2011 8:46 am

Colin / Monzamess,.... I've always used the black version to view this board...the white and blue just doesn't work well on my computer and my eyes..

I checked in the board preferences area, and 'prosilver' is the only choice available right now.... will the other option(s) be available again?

Thanks..

I'm missing the "Next, Previous" that navigates from topic to topic and the Ebay links.

Otherwise, I can adapt.

No. The other templates are gone. I'll work on the eBay links and the next/previous links later tonight. :)

Darn, guess I'll just have to drop a couple crayons in a jar of parts cleaner and spray my monitor :? Thanx for checking though. I did prefer the black over this present one but I'll live. After all I entertained myself as a kid playing kick the can :)

I never knew there was a option to change the color. Anyway, you may be able to adjust your monitor settings (contrast, brightness etc) to get it more to your liking.

The problem is that anything outside the regular phpbb installation is called a "mod" and is not supported or really accounted for by the people who work on phpbb. So when it's time to upgrade the software like Colin did last week, the upgrade wipes out the mods and we're back to a plain-vanilla phpbb installation. Each mod takes time to install and is a manual process. Not all mods are kept up-to-date; some don't work with the upgraded phpbb. So over time we may lose some of these mods just because they're not kept up-to-date or because they latest version has bugs or security problems or whatever. If you use Firefox, it's a similar problem: When you upgrade Firefox to the latest version (which happens several times a year) your add-ons may or may not continue to work, and if there isn't a new version of your add-on, it's gone.

The days when you could just install a program and forget about it are long gone.
