That about says it. I haven't posted much but I'm gone. So much for a family friendly site.

I'm with you, Dick. I think the moderator needs to step in with a little more control. I visit corvetteforum.com, also, and there are some tight reins held there.

I'd rather lose the adult content than lose members.

This is a tough nut to crack, but hopefully we can find a solution.

First, you can report anything truly offensive to me with a private message (PM), and I'll look into it.

Second, seems like there was some stuff on here that the user deleted himself--that's what I like to see!

--> Rule of thumb: if it seems questionable, it is! :)

Plenty of sites out there for questionable material, but only a handful of useful h-body sites...

i do think we all need to watch our p's and q's more ,self definatley included. its not worth the thrill when you lose good members like hammerdown 7 due to questionable posts on the site. lets all try to keep it real and only focused on the subject of our site so we can prevent further embarraseing situations as this. understand that our reputation as a site is at steak here and word gets around fast on the internet.........................

I think what's gone was a bit much, but think that what remains is totally fine. There's always gonna be somebody that threatens to leave, but for that one person there's another that enjoys it enough it makes em stay. Personally, I never met a car guy who didn't enjoy the occasional off color comment or joke, it's part of what makes this hobby fun.

So we lost hammerdown, that's too bad, but the board will live without him and his 13th post. Personally V8 monza was a little too straight laced for my taste, which is why I've posted 10X here in 2 months as I did there in 4 years.

just my 2 cents worth

I agree with starfire383. I think the content has been fine and entertaining. If everyday life was this civil and tasteful...I think life would be better. I like this group of people alot.

I've got no problems with this site. I think it's been really good compared to the junk you get on other sites. Keep up the good work and let's keep it clean.

just to clear it up for you guys.

It was probably *me* he meant in the shameless picture thread. I did not post any nudity, reavealing or gorey stuff, just a bit questionable humorous pics of which the garden was the cleanest one. lots of guys can understand the humour in it, but then again in a community with some conservative individuals it may be a bit much hence I kept thinking about it and took it off in about 30 minutes after I posted it (unrelated to this thread.)

if you're wondering how bad it was, think the fat-ass-subaru girl kind of disturbing at a comical moment (wedding) one and the racegirl-guy with a suggesting icon by it.

for my defense and the family-friendly part: kids wouldn't "get" this at all, just adults. :)

Anyway, my apologies to the ones who may have felt offended.

To all:

Nothing so far has been TOO bad, and you can't please everyone.

In fact, the only outright censoring I've done so far is to remove SPAM.

Just don't let the standards to slip further, like happens on other boards where you get outright porn and other trash...

Thanks everyone.

Yip.... Im with you Monzamess, everyone ive come accross on these boards no matter the subject have been cool, and most have had a sense of humour, thats what makes this site good. I reckon if we stay as we are we will be just fine. Lifes to short to be TOO PC, would take all the fun out of the boards. Every red blooded man or women on this site would be bored if the occasional off color joke or pic didnt turn up. Chill i say.

PS--- Still want to see pictures of project cars as they develop!!!

I think hammerdown is a Cosworth Vega guy - seen some posts over at the yahoo group.
I hadn't seen anything offensive here, but then I hadn't looked at the shamless[sic] pictures or jokes threads. The titles are adequate warning for sensitive types to not go there. Just peeked in there - heh-heh. Some good stuff in there.
This is a community, too. So, it's not always about the cars. I do agree with the moderator - try to keep it clean. But, keep your sense of humor, too. Life is too short.

I don't have the ability to check in as much as I'd like but I haven't seen anything that would have warranted censorship.

I installed a system where people can report posts but none have been reported in the last few days. I took care of the one reported post and banned the user for life.

If any content is something offensive to you I have always made my cell phone available to you all. It is 951-314-5966. If you call me with an issue I will address it immediately as I will probably be at work and have internet access there.

Later,
