Rebuildable L31 Cores (96-02 350 Vortec Engines)

Postby 70styleVega » Sat Sep 08, 2007 9:20 pm

The L31 truck engines featured Vortec Heads (considered the best flowing mass produced factory cylinder head) and a hydraulic roller cam setup from the factory. These are great (and cheap) building blocks suitable for a wide variety of projects.

AA Midwest (1-800-426-7881) not only supplies rebuilders with cores, but will ship them to shadetree mechanics as well. The cores go for around $300-$400.

If you know of other L31 core suppliers that will ship to joe private citizen, please add them to this post. thanks

Nice.. that's reasonable and the GenIV engines are a great carburetion alternative, too. :)
'72 Vega with '93 Camaro LT1/M29 T56/12 bolt 3.31. 16" IROCs all around. Sanderson headers into duals with an H-pipe and Flowmasters. It's loud but at least it's faster than your grandma's Buick. pwned.
