Headliners and carpets

Postby patrick1151 » Fri Oct 19, 2007 3:11 am

Headliners and cheaper carpets. They quote me $190.00 for molded carpets for two cars. I am also talking to them about headliners and they do them, just not sure how much yet.

Nice.. I had no idea that a company would make new headliners for our cars. My car could use one.. it's not too bad yet but it's starting to sag.
'72 Vega with '93 Camaro LT1/M29 T56/12 bolt 3.31. 16" IROCs all around. Sanderson headers into duals with an H-pipe and Flowmasters. It's loud but at least it's faster than your grandma's Buick. pwned.

Any update?
It seems many of us could use a new headliner.
Did you order any carpet from them?

I just ripped out the headliner from my 76 Vega Nomad. I wasn't sure why it was sagging so bad. Mice got up and made nests on it. The insulation was so aged that all of it practically turned to dust. If the price of an original style headliner is reasonable, I would purchase it, but I think a custom one would look a lot nicer. My goal though, is a restoration.

I have gone over the complete body and the only rust is a hole in the battery box (actually pretty much gone), a small hole in the spare tire well, and a small hole where water was dripping on the driver side carpet, but it didn't eat through the bottom panel. I was concerned when the doors had a lot of rust at the bottom so I assumed the rest of the body would be the same. Doors are easy to replace. I got really lucky.

My restoration is going really slow as I am working two jobs so my only time to work on the car is Sunday. I will start a project journal when I have some pics that least show some progress.
