Presents for the other car (non h-body)

I just got in the Brembo rotors for my 00 Eclipse GT. I could not find Brembo brake pads for them so I ordered the EBC hi performance ceramin (the red ones for those in the know). I should have it all installed within the next month or so. I will update then.

Speaking of brake pads and rotors.
I just attempted to put brakes and rotors on the rear my 85 VW golf GTI.

Turns out that VW uses an allen shaped object to twist in the caliper piston, I say "allen shaped object" because as far as I can tell the tool is not available in the US...its not metric and its not SAE. I have no Idea what it is....

So in liu of all that work (the rotors that I got didnt have races pressed into them either) I was forced to put the old gouged rotors and crumbling brake pads back on after about two hours of useless effort.

I love days like those....and then to make matters worse...my mom calls me and asks what Im doing...I tell her of my troubles and she responds "so youve lost your magic touch?"
Ouch mom.....ouch.

God bless

Bill,
Would love to see those Brenbo's.

Shred,

OUCH is right!!! She's just gettin' back at 'ya for that lame Mother's Day gift you got her last week, right?

Had something similar on the 94 Olds. Needed new rotors and pads. Couldn't get the caliper mounting bolts to loosen at all. And this is even after I searched all over town for the correct #50 (or #60???) Torx socket (Harbor Freight). Car is on jack stands for only a week when patient wife asks, "Should we get a mechanic to fix it?" So, car remained on jack stands for another week. Yeah, it's her car - still with 'old gouged' rotors on it.

well I have actually decided to return the brembos, I heard some not so good things about the cross drilled rotors so I am probably just going with brake pads for now. I still got upgrades to do on my blazer lol.

Don't waste your money on cross-drilled. They almost always crack between the holes. Get slotted or high-quality aftermarkets.

Just my opinion :)
'72 Vega with '93 Camaro LT1/M29 T56/12 bolt 3.31. 16" IROCs all around. Sanderson headers into duals with an H-pipe and Flowmasters. It's loud but at least it's faster than your grandma's Buick. pwned.

That is exactly what I heard........after I purchased them lol. I am returning them but the thing that sucks about it is the company charges a 20% restocking fee ($50 to put a part back on a shelf is bs in my opinion).

But, yeah when I do get new rotors they will be slotted. I would like the power slots but they are so expensive!
