Boy decisions on free time are going to be hard to make, soon.I love to fish in the rivers for steelhead and salmon and they open up june 1st.I've got the new motor going in and the body work to finish, dying to get her on the road.I've been spending almost all free time on the car but I think its time for a break.I've got the ticket, fishing is great and all but I really enjoy driving the jet sled.I put it right up there with driving the car a little wild, cruising in the river at 35-40 with 6 inches of water all you need,WHAT A RUSH!.If you've ever seen the little jet boats race on the mazes of ditches you'll understand.reelin in a 10 pound steelhead aint bad either

Well opening day was friday and the conditions sucked. Hot weather pushed the rivers up with melting snow so conditions were marginal at best, but I managed to scrape up a 9 pounder at the end of the day.YUM was dinner good, but damn a night in the woods sure makes a guy look scruffyLOL[img]

you should see the fraser river up here , it,s about to flood in several places i,ve never seen the river so high . the shop in work in is only a few hundred yards from it and the water is rising by the minute , this flood is starting over 1000 miles north and is making it,s way to the ocean but the tide is going to be at it,s highest in the next week so it could be ugly real quick . we have friends that have been told if the river does flood it could be 3wks or more before they can get back to their house .

Wow what a great pic. The river looks really beautiful. Here's our first catch this year (My Dad): It was a couple weeks ago...

I can't find the one where we toss it back... Fun catch. My Dad bought a house off this lake last year. It's the best thing that ever happened to him. This is White Bear Lake. I guess it's got a lot of Musky in it...

What an afternoon, went out for the evening bite yesterday and we took my friends neighbor along. After a couple hours of steelheading we decided to try for kings,we backtroll big plugs and guess who's pole went off, the neighbors.after fighting it for 20 minutes it was ready for a net,as he got it up to the side of the boat I was ready with the net.We kept telling him to keep the pole up but he was getting tired and tried yarding it towards the net sideways, just as my buddy was starting to tell him "up" the plug came out and whipped back hitting me in the nose and one point buried under my nose OUCH.Lost a 20-25lb hatchery chromer and had to ride back to the launch with a 4 inch plug stuck to my face.Once I got the mirror on the truck I worked it to the skin then just yanked to finish it off.The buddy's pretty surprised to see me walking back to the boat with the plug in my hand"lets go fishing,we still got an hour of daylight." From sheer exitement to pain, fear and frustration in the blink of an eye.well things could've been alot worse, awfully close to the eyes and 1 out of 6 hook points

Lanse,

OHHHHH!! As I was reading your 5:57 post, I was thinking, 'fish story' ... then the hook. YIKES!!!! Do you carry some hydrogen peroxide in the boat? Sewing kit, too? Got to be a nasty gash. Dude, u 'da man!
If you're home on Saturday, I'll stop by to verify that this still isn't just another fish story. heh-heh.
