That's frigging sweet.
'72 Vega with '93 Camaro LT1/M29 T56/12 bolt 3.31. 16" IROCs all around. Sanderson headers into duals with an H-pipe and Flowmasters. It's loud but at least it's faster than your grandma's Buick. pwned.

Steve, it's a Chevy Chevette, which was sold in your country as Holden Gemini, just as you called it.

I think it's cool how cars like this fare in other countries. In the US they're just cheap econoboxes with basic engines etc. In other countries you can get upgraded engines, suspensions, etc. It just plays to the "Americans like big cars, screw the rest" mentality I guess. The Escort is another good example, though I think maybe it was a different platform than our domestic Escort (ditto for the Focus).

I wonder what a Euro Vega would have been like. I guess that's a Cosworth, huh?

I know....I always wanted a watercooled 1.8 VW 8V engine in my chevette.

It really was a dangerous car to drive. They sacrificed so much power for fuel economy that it wouldnt get out of its own way.
If you have an american chevette....NEVER PASS ANYONE...not that youll have the power to do so, but youll realize it half way through and either back off or get smashed.

Always wanted to stuff a small block in it too...I like the small obscure cars....too bad mine was a 4 door and got hauled off by the city.

God bless

A Cosworth Vega that wasn't severely detuned for emissions and wasn't fitted with huge bumpers might have been a competitive car in the European market.
Oh, wait, the Corvette-price might have been a problem.
