A monza is the ultimate sleeper..

Postby marco_1978_spyder » Mon Jul 29, 2013 8:22 pm

Even tucked inside a barn, it'll sleep a 5 and half foot person with ease, and not to uncomfortable either.. I'm back on my feet for the time being. I spent some time in limbo between apartment's..and that meant some night's camping out 'neath the stars.. Out in the country, rented space, not much to worry about.

Was pretty comfy, I got some good night sleeps with no complaint's. Was kind of fun really. Kind of like having an adult race car bed.

I've moved from the Port of Rochester area.. I miss seeing lake Ontario from my front door every day. Has a cool calming effect, and it's always cooler by the lake regardless of the stifling heat in the city. Or warmer in the winter..

But now I live off of Monroe Ave in Downtown. Sort of like South street in Philly. Much more to do...tons of resturant's and shop's. Evrythings nearby...but it's the city. Noisy. bustling. getting used to it. Still have my country retreat out to storage when I can get there. Decent little studio here.. Not too much more each month.
So I have my PC set up and tapping some unprotected wi-fi signal to get internet. It's super slow slow slow. and will be a little more time until I have my own signal. But I'm here a little more now than I have been over the last few months..

Glad to hear from you Marco. Getting used to new surroundings won't take too long, especially if you're missing sleep.

A few years ago, I was dating a gal that lived right next to a rail road track. It was in her back yard, about 100 feet from her house. Those first few nights that I crashed there, were eye-opening. Didn't take me too long to practically sleep right through a couple of those a night when I was there. I'd wake momentarily, realize it's just a train, then back to sweet slumber without a problem.

Many years prior, I lived about 1/4 mile from a rock quarry. Every two minutes(during business hours), there was a full dump truck, jamming gears leaving out of there.... and an empty truck jake-braking to get in there. Of course, I worked midnights..... didn't take me long to get used to sleeping right through those dudes all day long.
................ BUT, I never got used to the quarterly or so DYNAMITE Blasts. Literally, knocked pictures off the walls. Hahahaha.....
You'll adjust.

Now, your jaunts out to the country to the garage and the cars will be even more valuable/memoriable. Enjoy!
Dwight

There's trains in the distance here! But... I love trains! I grew up across the street from a busy rail line from 0 to 10 years old, so I love the rumble and the horn's and the klinkety klinks. Love trains! I surprisingly slept well in the Monza, I wished I had one of those tents! Needed it on those really hot night's...I was using the Aveo by then. That was like a Super8 Compared to a Red Roof Inn,lol. It was an interesting learning experience. You don't save any money when you have to buy all prepared food, and bottled drinks. So I don't recommend trying it. The old house my apartment was in got sold and the new owner had other plans for the house and eventually booted everybody.

The decision to be homeless, (but not jobless!!) was tempting for me too. I'll offer these words of caution. I could only really do this because I also rent that storage barn way off on the outside of town. That took care of a place to park, and some privacy, and a place to store my clothes. And electricity.

Without that place, cop hassles, and other impracticality's would have made this impossible. I soon realized there are very few safe dark public places to park for an overnight sleep.

Outside of that, there's some other troubles/hassles.. I mentioned the expense of food and drink above. A gym membership get's you to have a place to shower and stay clean....and the quick workout is a plus. But it always takes up time and gas. Having to go to the bathroom was for me the biggest pain. You learn to value indoor plumbing in a major way. I liked the feeling of freedom, and all the time I got to spend on my car.

Here's a blog that helped me.. http://guide2homelessness.blogspot.com/ ... stops.html

If life takes me down more strange roads..well I have some experience now.
