Im back! Just an update on my ecm problem....I contacted ECM depot down in Texas Dec 31,and talked with Jay,who had the best answers to my problem. The deal was ship it down with the printed repair form, pay shipping (used fedx) and would call me and let me know if it could or could not be fixed and also had a reman if I wanted to go that route. So I shipped it and sat back and waited. And waited, waited some more.On Jan 16 I called Jay again and asked what was the situation,he told me it had not arrived yet!! (wtf?) He checked next door with his sister shop and no luck there.I gave him the tracking number and he began a trace on it,I also went to the mail depot and had them do the same. Two days later I called Jay again and he told me my computer had been delivered to a home address in the local area and signed off by someone named B-Cantu (huh?) and for some reason the fedx driver could not remember who, what,or where he dropped it off! I checked with the mail depot on Jan1,and the nice lady said it would take 8to 10 days to track down the package. I have been in a clusterf...k or two in my time and even seen a real chinese fire drill.(Tiwan 1967) but this deal makes me want to shit and pound my fist in it!!! So im gonna sit tight (what else can i do ? Yeah,I know...shit and ...) Until then my Cavalier is going great, glad I bought it. Sort of a "Vega substitute " So tune in next time Vega fans...same time same channel for the next saga of the Great PCM hunt !!!

And I thought I had bad luck! The crown now goes to you! :hail: That is as bizarre a tail as I have ever heard and I have had parcels delivered open with S :censored: T missing that I picked up at the post office with the explanation of a shrug! Good Luck with this, now you need to make a sacrifice to the FedEx God (maybe a virgin brick and their front window? NOT Really ) Harry

Well If you think that sucks...I stopped by the Mail Depot to check on how things were going. Are you ready for this? The nice lady tells me that the insurance company that covers FEDX has given up on finding my ecm and will only give me $100 on my $200 insurance or $68 on the price for a ecm on a place called Auto Parts Mopar. This is from the nice lady at Mail Depot. So I go home and google that web site and I find that the ecm shown has my part number and to the left of it there is N/A and down at the bottom is a listing for a TPS for $68 !!! I guess thats what you get dealing with non car guys!! But Wait !! There is MORE!! If I want to get my full $200 I have to scour the web and find as many ecm's as possable and provide a letter from all those dealers that states that that ecm is no longer available!! I guess thats thier way of saying " Chuck you Fraley!!!"I did check out Megasquirt and it would cost more than my Daytona's paint job cost.(3K) If I knew where the home office was,I think I would stop by there one night and take a dump on their front door step!! See if they can track that!! Somewhere out there there is a ecm that will work...just a matter of time...So stay tuned kids!!! the hunt goes on!!!

2/7/14 The story continues....called Fedx today, talked to a nice lady, explaned the situation and she was very helpful.Long story short, she told me that my ecm had been delivered to the address and signed off by someone there.Yeah, but Jay who I have been talking to,says nope not here, the lady at Fedx says the driver is sticking to his story that he delivered the package to the right address, and the lady is backing him up.The lady here at Mail Depot called the shop in Texas and got Jay to fax her a statement saying that the package did not arrive and if it had and they were able to repair it it would have cost me $278 including shipping, which the lady at Mail Depot will send to the Ins co and I should get a check(for how much I don't know ) in the mail. Bottom line...ecm is lost in a black hole somewhere in Texas and Im SOL. So its friday night, think Ill go to the local bar and see if I can drink myself into a better mood.Ok,Im finished ranting, its Bud time.

Dont know where you live, ( cant narrow down how close one is ) but http://www.car-part.com list a bunch used. They say in the listings what car it came out of, if it ran sometimes, and sometimes milege. ( an "A" condition are the best ones)

After your done at the bar and you have money left, check it out. :th:

91 ecms do appear on car-part.com as noted above

http://www.car-part.com

I plugged in the numbers from carpart and came up with this

http://www.autoecms.com/parts/Details.c ... d=buy_text
https://www.google.com/search?q=5276465 ... =firefox-a

http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/showt ... -parts-q-s

Not sure if this helps but this chart shows ecms for 91 and 92. Your ecm is listed for 91. On the left is shown what I believe is the engine code which is the same regardless of year. 92 ecms have number 4686297 which is available and is likely has updated programming. If it is the same engine I don't see why it wouldn't work. I don't believe there is anything unique about the actual ecm just the programming is vehicle specific.

Or the pound of (proverbial of course)"Flesh", suitable refund, or perhaps even a real investigation as to the location of that solid state "GOLD" ? Harry
