My parents had a Chrysler Laser (twin to the Daytona) that had a bum ECU. It was still under warranty at the time, so the dealer swapped ECUs (and about a dozen other parts) a couple times until they got a "good" one. The problem was a cold solder joint on the board that when it dropped below freezing (as it does about 9 months of the year where I grew up
) the solder shrunk enough for the connection to break, and the car wouldn't start. So maybe you can try re-flowing the solder joints on yours to try and get it up again while you look for your un-obtainium ECU...
And a friend had a V6 Daytona, nice car and accellerated pretty nice for the era.
