This Astre belongs to a friend of mine in Guelph.
It's kept at another buddy's shop and I'll be getting some pics of it this Easter when I go to visit everybody back east. These are old friends of mine that I grew up with and "played" cars with for many years. The shop where it is at times is owned by my friend Mike who holds 1st place for the "Hemi Shootout" 2 years in a row with his 68 Cuda. I cranked the Cuda through the traps once before it became a 9 sec dream!! I'll post Dave's Astre next month.
If you want to see a good ole boy's red 68 'Cuda that he built on a shoe string budget and kicked the tail of the "rich-kids" with their fancy iron, google the NSS Hemi shootout July 9th 2011. at the Grand Bend Motorplex and Mike Guild and you'll get that feeling that the "little guy" does win sometimes this is an awesome You-Tube video of the Red 68 getting nasty air! against a Belvedere...that's my bud Mikey! Congrats Puslinch Pilgrim!
I was wandering behind the car when it launched and got some nice footage of the take off and run!
PS ..we just finished fartin' around with the carbs and I was the last guy to set 'em up for the last two passes and Mike set the suspension up to hook different...can't wait to see Dave launch the blue Astre!
