Postal Vehicles

Postby NVEGAR8D » Mon Apr 07, 2014 1:32 pm

Hi,
We've all seen those small postal vans with the narrower front ends. I'm just wondering if anyone knows what steering is in one of those. they do have 5 lug spindles and look to be narrow enough to
fit in our cars?

If you are speaking of the Grumman Bodied Postal Trucks (the style with all the large Rivets) They are basicly an aluminum Body put on a 2wd S-10 Frame. But I do not know how much the S-10 frame was modified, they also have 2.5 Iron Duke's the Tech 4 version usually. Here is a wiki link

Hi,
Thanks Cammerjeff, that's some of the info i was looking for.I couldn't find any specific info. From my limited read they are using the s-10 front steering components with right hand steer instead of our left hand but otherwise may be a sourse for spindles and brake components.I'll have to talk to the local recycler and see what he can tell me about compatability when the time comes for my front end.
