Kraco KCA-7, know where I can find one?

Postby Spyder-roadmachine » Sun Jun 01, 2014 10:53 pm

Hey guys, I have a 77 spyder that I am trying to get going for cheap, so I'd like to use the stock stereo system... But I don't have any 8 track tapes laying around, and I would really like to be able to plug my MP3 player in. So I'm thinking about putting the KCA-7 in with the cassette to MP3 adapter. I've heard of this working in the past. But don't know where to find a KCA-7, any advice on where I could find one? Or an alternative?

Any old 2 post radio with cassette will fit but... here's some things to know.

Those cassette adapters dont always work so well because the tape head doesn't align well with the cassette adapter, meaning poor sound quality.

A better way would be do get a cheap 2 post radio then send if off to one of those laces that will install a aux input jack onto any stereo. Thats not to much.

You can go to wall mart and buy and FM stereo transmitter that will allow you to play tunes over some blank airwaves but depending on where you live. Some places have interference over all the airwaves. When they do work they work well.

You could search JC whitney for a retro radio. They have modern stereo's built into old Chassis's. (2 post) I bet one will have an auxillary input.

Here are a few to get you started, about 10 that actually even sorta' match. And some of them are actually cheap... uhm I mean "budget friendly" Harry http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid= ... &_from=R40 Or you could with a less budget friendly plan go this way, Note: knobs etc. are extra! http://www.retrosound.com/category-s/26864.htm , or Custom Autosound they did have a Monza listed, but that isn't there now, but cars with similar radio's are listed and all kinds of excellent options to boot! http://www.casmfg.com/index.php

Budget friendly is the term most people prefer haha.
Thank you, I couldn't find them with any search I tried.
