Side project

Postby 76wagon » Thu Sep 11, 2014 5:51 pm

Here's another project I've been working on lately. Needed a way to bring water and propane to the cottage between renters without having to drive up in my truck (round trip is close to $80 in fuel)

Got the basic trailer built and working, took it around the block today and it tows real nice. Now to worry about a fender, lights and mounting a propane tank and 2 water bottles. I already have a trailer fender, LED motorcycle taillight and a propane tank mount from an old tent trailer (another project- I'll post pics when it's done if anybody's interested) so hopefully I can have it all together this weekend.

It uses a mountain bike shock for the suspension, a standard trailer tire and hub and everything else is fabricated by me. Looking forward to getting it out on a nice long ride with some weight on it to see how it holds up. Should be a really handy addition to my toy collection!

Nice contraption Phill. I like innovative things and this seems to be one of them. Let us know how it works with a load on it. You are the guinea pig after all.
