Howdy everyone,
I picked up a manual tire changer yesterday at Princess Auto for 90 bucks and hopefully today get a look at it. It was a far more important priority to blast home before 1 oclock to unload the Sunturd and take her for a cruise, 3rd time now burning up the gas stabilizer lol. Weather is so unpredictable at the moment but take what I can cuz the 5o below stuff will eventually be here
Thanks for everyones imput and Dick, the one you have for sale is a bargain!...wished I lived closer...Harry, you mallet wielding maniac, the other day I had a young feller workin' with me and needed him to hold a bar steady....so I could pound a "rock" out from between a set of duals on one of the trucks out in the field we were working...I immediately started to laugh as I thought of what you wrote here the other day, wel this made him even more nervous and when I said the words, "c'mon, trust me" this added to the laughter and I told him to close his eyes and it would only be worse if he moved..
...hopefully the tire changer works and that I'll be able to use it with all of my parts...the ones attached to me! It looks as though the key here is to anchor it securely to some sort of base and Spencor's idea to be able to remove it should work as well, ( need the shop room cuz son-in-law is running a tinting biz in it.) again thanks to everbody...it should save a pile of doh cuz out here the tire shops thinks everyone's independantly wealthy, at 25 bucks a wheel! I'll change the 4 over for daughter and the changer is paid for basically!.....stay tuned!
P.S.another reason for my own tools... Fountain Tire in Bonnyville Ab.will never be allowed to change a WHEEL BARREL TIRE for me, they marked up the edges of my 13 inch snowflakes last year as they didn't put protectors on them and didn't tell me that they had damaged the edges
when I told them what happened afterwards, they offered to sell me other rims at a discount, ya like that's gonna happen! a-holes...that's why they don't let the customer go and watch but I'll stand there at the door at any shop and keep an eye on what is going on or tell'em I'm going somewhere else!
"remember... not everything is good on TOAST!"
