Holy Frik! Gas less than 73.9 a Litre!!!

Postby Sunula66 » Sat Dec 13, 2014 11:41 pm

In one of my recent posts back down the column here, I was telling everyone the price of gas going down and it was less than a dollar a litre!
Well, I'm happy to report that Gasoline has just reached prices from 1984 here in Alberta! Today the price for one litre of regular gasoline is a startling 73.9 cents per litre!!!! :th:

The fallout and subsequent sad part of all of this hoopla is that myself and many who are involved with the production of oil up here will soon all be on social assistance and riding bicycles and I may have to tow my Sunbird behind my 10 speed makin' motor sounds! :? ...ya, like that's gonna happen!
Prices as I was predicting were to bottom out at 90 cents but the barrel price continues to slide falling dangerously low enough to cut production up here but it won't be felt until March or April thank goodness! I'll need a much deserved holiday by then anyways and will welcome the lack of work and I'm sure that if I leave my house in the end of May, I'll be able to arrive at Bryan's for Monza -Que in August if I pedal with a bit of tailwind..
...after my visit with everyone, I'll start my long arduous journey home which should put me right back in time to embrace the 18 hour days that I would have missed somehow by then! yay me......soooo, in keeping with my usual up beat personality, I encourage everyone with their hobby cars and other gas guzzlers to butch-up and pump some air into those bike tires and that way when you are pouring out gas from a Gerry can that you have 200 of by now, makes sense I'd say, into your ride, remind your bestus "GREEN ENERGY" neighbors that they can have pick of any of the bicycles hanging up in the shed as they now have full tires! this you will yell to them while dispensing rubber throughout your residential housing zone! :th: :D...just sayin's all lol

Still 96 cents a liter here in Ontario.

The Arabs are spending more money than they are taking in now, apparently they have a few trillion $ stashed away but can only afford oil below ~70$ / barrel for only so long.

I'm not so sure about this cheap gas..... Suddenly my Aveo get's way less MPG and the check engine light has been on. Otherwise seems fine. maybe just time for new spark plugs.

where the heck is ontario alberta Sunula? I am down here in lethbridge and gas is right around 90 cents a litre..... at least u make good money in that industry when your working, the only benefit from the oil in alberta i seem to see is high prices.... on the flip side of your bicycle story with gas this cheap I might finally be able to afford to leave town in a vehicle other than my motorcycle :th:

and to give you guys down south an idea gas here in august was like 1.20 ish a litre course i 'd like it to be like in the early 90's when i learned to drive and gas was 49.9

.56 a liter this week ( still not under $2 a gallon like the states)

Going up by 15 cents soon ( March?) to fund the DTOP ( Dept of Trans) cause they are broke. :cuss:
