Look what i found

Postby CaptainPainn » Tue Feb 03, 2015 8:16 pm

Last Friday i was in school talking with a guy about cars. I was telling him about my Vega and he says "yeah i got one of them." Naturally, i was quite shocked by this and had to see for myself. I went over today and sure enough, there it was. He said that it belonged to his great grandmother before she passed, who used it to deliver mail. It was parked sometime around 95' when the tranny went out. The best part is, its for sale. And for only $400. :D I wont be getting the car until the snow melts, and i cant see the extent of the rust, but it looks pretty bad. As of right now leaning towards parting it out. Power breaks, power steering, and lower valance are mine. Anything else is up for grabs. Coons ate the seats. Floors gone, spare tire area gone, battery tray gone. All glass good. Lost title. I'm going to the Ohio show, and if anyone wants any of the big stuff and is going it would save shipping cost.

Finally got the car this weekend. Half expected it to yank apart pulling it out of the woods but never did. The son of their feuding neighbors busted out the quarter window, attacked the roof with a hatchet, and cracked the windshield with a bb gun. Brought it home for $200. Right now just a parts car, but today's parts cars are tomorrows projects!

I'm not quite ready to start a build thread on this car yet, that will probably be next year sometime. But here is what i have done with it so far. It's in such poor shape i don't feel bad about cutting it up. Its going to be a 4x4 (purists shield eyes). It's going on a 78' Intl. Scout frame iv'e got. Track widths are pretty darn close, with the scout being only a couple inches wider. My goal isn't to build a show car, i just want to make it drivable where its not worthy of being scrapped.
