Dick last year they said on the radio, that the season system has had to be changed to better reflect modern times up here in Michigan (and Ontario)! Now only two, first Winter/SNOW  and second Construction  I am not sure which is worse, but I should've invested in Rental Orange Barrels, I'd be rich  ! Harry

Dick,

At least Michigan has money TO fix the roads! Missouri is lacking funds so the roads and bridges keep deteriorating. There are bridges in my county that have either been closed to traffic or the speed is limited to 15 mph crossing them. The news tells me that I-70 will become an issue in the next decade.

Chuck,
The roads are not being fixed very well at all in the area of Michigan that I live in.
Our fine legislators tried to raise the sales tax to make that happen, but that didn't fly too well.
Now if they would use the money on roads that they give away on welfare, we would have fine roads.
That however is another discussion not suitable for this forum.

Zeke,
funny thing about that picture....all those workers and only one visible shovel...the old saying is ," how many guys does it take to hold up that shovel?".....
....the reason I'm not ever allowed to stop in Michigan is because,
One winter up in the U.P. (upper peninsula) I was stuck in the snow after delivering a piece of heavy equipment to a highway construction area. I used my shovel and accidently left it behind...standing up by itself...unassisted :th: .....

In a letter thanking me for my timely delivery as they were unable to repair the ancient equipment they were using, a small notation was at the bottom, hand written by the "Road Crew Boss "said that the shovel was identified to have been left behind by me.....in the body of the letter, The D.O.T. issued a warning to me and it read, please be cautious of your well being when visiting our construction zones, do not exit your vehicle , even if you break down! :? ...
geez, I thought I did them a favor and figured another shovel might get the job done quicker
