Our family had a crushing day on Wednesday last week. We lost our beloved pet and family member, Tanuk. He was our, nearly 14 yr old, Siberian Husky who was the designated scrap collector and plate cleaner at all 10 MonzaQue's that we have hosted. He became instant and forever friends with all who had a plate of food at the 'Que for the past decade. We were given him when he was 4 and we enjoyed almost 10 full years with him as a member of our family. Our family are much better off having him in our lives. We are absolutely crushed and devastated with this loss and I know many MonzaQue guests will miss him as well.
If there was anything to take away from it, it was his send-off. As we were digging his final resting place (he (he will remain on our property with us forever, as it should be), the clouds parted to reveal a bright red, full moon. To top it off, the moment my Son and I lowered him into the ground, a pack of coyotes to the south started to howl, they were joined seconds later by a 2nd pack to the east, who were then joined again by a 3rd pack of coyotes in the north. They howled the entire time, till we finished burying Tanuk, at which point they all abruptly stopped and did not make another sound the rest of the night. Very eerie yet very fitting for a husky. Mother Nature has called him home.
Rest in Peace ... puppy!
