Everyone ready for a Fun Packed Spring!?

Postby Sunula66 » Thu Apr 28, 2016 11:49 pm

Sooo......
...... it's been a long cold ole winter..well at least for most of us...wait a minute, that's not fair!
Just sittin' here wondering how many of my H-Buddies have their cars out yet?.....so then as I'm getting mine ready for the tow back to reality, it occurred to me, there's lotsa people from this site, like lucky ass there in Arizona with the beauteous white Astre..no disrespect intended lol, who get to drive all year round... and so that's it. How many actually can drive their H-body vehicles most of the year??!
..now I know that there's more important stuff pending in your lives, and how dare you...
However there are members in other parts of the globe and they must be able to drive most of the year I'm thinkin' such as, Aussie's...Peorto Ricians...lol and most of our southern friends..anywhere that when you keep drivin' south the butter melts... :th: and since this particular off topic thread hasn't gained any traction for a while....I'm gonna ask the question, How many of us don't really need to be concerned about the removal of steel wool from the exhaust and the extraction of the Fabric softener sheets from every nook and cranny including the tire inflations and fluid changes etc.....or are you simply happy to report, that your H is ready to take to the open roads!!
Yes Boys and Girls, another H-Body Cruzin' season is upon most of us and it feels right!! give us a little update and Happy Motoring to all of my H-Buddies!! :D
Where's your first car show for 2016? ,,your first trip and or your first excursion this year in the mighty H.....

I had mine out a week ago and then it snowed for 2 days lol...now it's getting ready for a 3000 mile trip east on a dolly......

Snow?? What is this strange substance you speak of?
I can drive mine year round. In the "harsh" winter i might have to wear pants instead of shorts and a light hoodie. It does rain on occasion so that means i can't drive it about 20 days a year. The motor keeps me warm.

I went to the opening night of a local car show on 4/20. It's every Wednesday until October 28th.
Taking Vega to the Antique Drags at the local 1/8th mile dragstip tomorrow. The weather won't be as good as i was hoping. It's only going to be 67F and partly cloudy.

Attended a weekend event called "Cruisin' the Smokies". A two day autocross event with supplemental cruises for the two groups (one group autocrosses Friday, then other Saturday) each day. Dinner is provided, too.

I was in the Saturday autocross group, so my "cruise" was Friday. Only 6 vehicles out of 30+ cars elected to group up and cruise. We went up to Clingman's Dome, one of the highest points in the Appalachians, that provides an good view of the surrounding area.
Here's one of the pull-offs...... and this is pretty much impossible to do ...... 2 G-bodies, 2 H-bodies, 1 MOPAR (no mustangs, camaros, novas ,etc):

Here's one of the views. Surprisingly, there was relatively low humidity so the views were pretty good. The "Smokey" Mountains got their name because of the high humidity that bunches up in the area and literally "Smokes" up the area, thus viewing any distances aren't possible. The last time I was up there, it was soooo foggy (cloudy) you couldn't see 25 feet ahead of you. A wasted hike......
Nice Views Today:

Gonna try to autocross the Kammback Saturday........

Spectaculous VIEW Dwight!! Very Nice!...Autocross you say, this sounds like a lot of fun for sure!
And sadly yes, Snow for you all in San Diego....it's a white substance and resembles a cold "sugar"...and should not be inhaled through one's nose although this does happen by accident when you least expect it  ...and the brain freezes.. ....BTW, 20 days a year you can't drive your car??...I'd sell it! ...just kiddin'
well thanks for the replies fellas...any one else?...I just heard of the multitude of spring car shows and A&W's hosting show and shines already started and many charity events coming up this year which are way up in frequency comparing to last year...It's really caught on for communities and a great way to raise funds and get families out there to enjoy in the festivities!!... Up here in Ontario Canada, we have just heard of this year's first "Hot Rod" highway tour that will start on a Friday night in Chatham and go right through until late Sunday :th: there will be a lot of events to join in and watch and an interesting trip to say the least through south western Ontario.
Hope to be able to go.....
